MONITORING & DETECTION of EAB
The first step in management and control involves monitoring and detection to determine if EAB is present. Monitoring ash trees is needed to help delimit current and find new populations of EAB. Knowing where EAB is will help you time your management activities effectively. Communities and woodlot owners need to know when EAB is in or near their towns and woodlots so they can plan and implement management actions aimed at reducing the economic, environmental, and social impacts brought on by the loss of ash trees.
