Controlling Invasives on Your Property

Green Chimneys is holding an invasive education event for local landowners at their Clearpool Model Forest Campus. The Controlling Invasives on Your Property workshop will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2014 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM at Green Chimneys Clearpool Campus | 33 Clearpool Road, Carmel, New York.

Invasive plants can be the bane of a landowner’s existence. From Japanese barberry to black swallowwort, these plants can take over whole sections of property, reducing native plant diversity and affecting local wildlife.

Green Chimneys will hike to their Model Forest to view an example of ongoing back swallowwort control. They will also spend time outdoors identifying local invasive plants. Management tips and other resources for local landowners will be provided.

Moderate-level hike; lunch included.

Registration fee: $15
